An adaptive controller (42) is provided for controlling the velocity of a ram (32) in an injection molding apparatus (14) during the injection stage of the molding cycle. The controller (42) includes two sets of parameters. The first set of parameters defines an open-loop control equation and the second set of parameters defines a closed-loop control equation for controlling the ram (32) velocity. The first and second set of parameters are modified to improve the ram (32) performance and efficiency on the subsequent injection cycle.

Organe de commande (42) adaptable permettant de régler la vitesse d'un bélier (32) dans un appareil (14) de moulage par injection au cours de la phase d'injection du cycle de moulage. L'organe de commande (42) comprend deux séries de paramètres. La première série définit une équation de commande en boucle ouverte et la deuxième série de paramètres définit une équation de commande en boucle fermée permettant de contrôler la vitesse du bélier (32). Les deux séries de paramètres sont modifiées, afin d'améliorer le fonctionnement et l'efficacité du bélier (32) lors du cycle d'injection suivant.
