A storage tank for fluids comprises a novel wear or striker plate. The striker plate is comprised of a sacrificial galvanic anode and a steel core, and it is situated opposite an access opening. The striker plate can also function adjacent other corrosive areas in a tank, such as along a seam in a tank wall, to reduce corrosion. An anodic plate comprising a plurality of cores is separable into multiple anodes that are placed in an above or below ground fluid storage tank to reduce corrosion therein. The anodic plate further acts as striker or wear plate in underground tanks.
