The invention proposes an engine supplied with compressed air comprising a main drive piston (1) driving a crankshaft (5) and one active expansion chamber (13) of a variable volume allowing work to be produced and which is connected, by a passage (6), with the volume contained in the driving cylinder (2), characterized in that the said passage (6) comprises a shutter (7) thus allowing the said active expansion chamber to be isolated from or to be placed in contact with the dead volume, in such a manner that the engine works according to a four-phase thermodynamic cycle: an isothermal expansion without work; a transfer-slight expansion with work said to be quasi-isothermal; a polytropic expansion with work; an exhaust at ambient pressure.
La présente invention concerne un moteur alimenté en air comprimé qui comprend un piston d'entraînement principal (1) qui entraîne un vilebrequin (5), et une chambre de détente active (13) de volume variable qui permet la production d'un travail et qui est raccordée, par un passage (6), au volume contenu dans le cylindre d'entraînement (2), caractérisé en ce que ledit passage (6) comprend un volet (7), permettant ainsi à ladite chambre de détente active d'être isolée du volume mort, ou d'être placée au contact de celui-ci de sorte que le moteur fonctionne selon un cycle thermodynamique à quatre phases : une détente isothermique sans travail; une détente à transfert léger avec travail pour être quasi-isothermique; une détente polytropique avec un travail; un échappement à pression ambiante.
