A sphere cage (14) and carousel wheel assembly (18) are provided which convert user applied force into rotational movement of the carousel (18) to guide and support the movement through curves of an annular array of spheres (12) composing the loop mechanism of a continuous loop mouse or position control device for use with a pointing device of a computer screen or other graphical user interface.
