A medical pad (10) includes a thermal exchange layer capable of absorbing and/or releasing heat to a patient, and an adhesive surface (16A) disposed on a skin-contacting side of the thermal exchange layer of adhering the pad (10) to the skin of the patient. The thermal exchange layer may comprise a fluid containing layer (12) for containing a thermal exchange fluid (14) capable of absorbing thermal energy from, and/or releasing thermal energy to the patient. The pad (10) may also include a conformable, thermally conductive insulating layer (16), and an insulating layer (18). Transverse members (24, 26) or dimples (624) on insulating base member (618) may be provided to define tortuous fluid passageways in fluid containing layer (12). A fluid circulating system (40) includes a pump (42), operating under negative pressure, connected downstream from a fluid outlet (22) and a fluid reservoir (44) connected upstream from a fluid inlet (20).
L'invention concerne un coussin à usage médical (10) comprenant une couche échangeuse thermique, capable d'absorber et/ou de céder de la chaleur à un patient, et une surface adhésive (16A) disposée sur la face en contact avec la peau, de la couche échangeuse thermique, assurant l'adhésion du coussin (10) sur la peau du patient. La couche échangeuse thermique peut comprendre une couche (12) destinée à contenir un fluide échangeur thermique (14) capable d'absorber de l'énergie thermique du patient et/ou de lui en céder. Le coussin (10) peut également comporter une couche isolante thermiquement conductrice (16) susceptible de se conformer, et une couche isolante (18). Des éléments transversaux (24)(26) ou des bossages (624) sur l'élément de base isolant (618) peuvent être prévus pour définir des passages de fluide sinueux dans la couche contenant le fluide (12). Un système de circulation de fluide (40) comprend une pompe (42) fonctionnant sous dépression, connectée en aval de la sortie de fluide (22), et un réservoir de fluide (44) connecté en amont de l'entrée de fluide (20).
