A method for determining the capacity that is needed on an lub link to fulfill Grade of Service (GoS) requirements in a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) for both Dedicated Channel (DCH) traffic and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) traffic, the method comprising the steps of determining the bandwidth demand of the HSDPA traffic (ElasticDim); calculating an average bandwidth of the DCH traffic on the lub interface (BW use,avg) setting an initial capacity (Capacity) to the capacity need of the DCH traffic (Capacity DCH), wherein at least the initial capacity will be provided for the DCH traffic in the dimensioned system; and, increasing the value of Capacity until a quality requirement of the HSDPA traffic is fulfilled, the maximum value of Capacity reached being the capacity that is needed for DCH and HSDPA traffic for the lub interface.
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé permettant de déterminer la capacité qui est nécessaire sur une liaison lub pour satisfaire aux exigences de qualité d'écoulement du service (GOS) dans un réseau d'accès radio terrestre (UTRAN) à système universel de télécommunication mobile (UMTS), à la fois pour le trafic à canal réservé (DCH) et pour le trafic à accès par paquets en liaison descendante haut débit (HSDPA). Le procédé selon l'invention comprend les étapes consistant : à déterminer la demande de largeur de bande du trafic HSDPA (DimElastique) ; à calculer une largeur de bande moyenne du trafic DCH sur l'interface lub (BW utilisation,moyenne) ; à définir une capacité initiale (Capacité) pour le besoin de capacité du trafic DCH (CapacitéDCH), étant entendu qu'au moins la capacité initiale sera fournie au trafic DCH dans le système de dimensionnement ; et à augmenter la valeur de Capacitéjusqu'à ce qu'une exigence de qualité du trafic HSDPA soit satisfaite, la valeur maximale de Capacité atteinte étant la capacité nécessaire au trafic DCH et HSDPA pour l'interface lub.
