An opposed piston disc brake caliper (10) which includes a caliper housing (11) arranged for mounting brake shoes (17) on each of opposite sides of a rotor which in use is disposed between the brake shoes (17). Each brake shoe (17) having radially inner (26) and outer (27) edges when mounted in the housing (11) and side edges (28) extending therebetween. A piston is associated with each brake shoe (17) and is operable in use to shift the respective brake shoe (17) toward the rotor for engagement therewith to effect braking. Mounting members (20) extend from the side walls (12,13) of the housing (11) toward the rotor and is provided for engagement with each side edge (28) of each brake shoe (17) and the engagement such as to substantially limit movement of each brake shoe (17) other than in a direction toward or away from the rotor. At least one of the mounting members (20) being removable from the housing (11) to facilitate removal of a the brake shoe (17) from the housing (11).

L'invention concerne un étrier (10) de frein à disque à pistons opposés qui comprend un logement d'étrier agencé pour monter des chaussures de patin de frein (17) sur chacun des côtés opposés d'un rotor qui, en fonctionnement, est disposé entre les patins de frein (17). Chaque patin de frein (17) présente des bords radialement intérieurs (26) et extérieurs (27) lorsqu'ils sont montés dans le logement (11) et des bords latéraux (28) s'étendant entre eux. Des éléments de montage (20) s'étendent par rapport aux parois latérales (12, 13) du logement (11) vers le rotor et viennent en contact avec chaque bord latéral (28) de chaque patin de frein (17) de façon à limiter sensiblement le mouvement de chaque patin de frein (17) dans un autre sens que vers le rotor ou en provenance de celui-ci. Au moins un des éléments de montage (20) est amovible du logement (11) de façon à faciliter l'extraction d'un patin de frein (17) du logement.
