This paper presents an improved equalization strategy for ADSL receivers when in presence of transmitters with an IFFT size that does not match the FFT size at the receiver. The proposed techniques involve just minor modifications to the equalizer's training algorithm and allow using a fixed size FFT at the receiver. The performance improvements that result are shown to be quite significant. A simple method to optimize the equalizer strategy without the knowledge of the transmit IFFT size is also discussed.
