The present invention relates to melting plate candles which employ heat conductive elements to distribute heat from a burning flame at a wick to a support plate for a solid fuel and to the body of said solid fuel, so as to more rapidly liquefy the solid fuel, such as paraffin wax, and to more uniformly and intensely heat such fuels to increase the efficiency of consumption thereof and to more rapidly release volatile materials contained within said fuels. The heat conductive support plate is configured so as to have a capillary pedestal upon the surface thereof, which cooperatively engages a wick holder comprising a preferably consumable wick and heat conductive fins which conduct heat from a flame upon said wick to said support plate. The wick holder also provides capillary fins by which liquified fuel is transported from said support plate to said flame, said wick holder further engages said capillary pedestal in such a locking manner as to resist accidental removal from said pedestal. The fuel may be provided in various forms, configured to cooperatively engage said wick holder and support plate, and may comprise various volatile materials. The capillary pedestal, in conjunction with the wick holder, causes rapid and complete flow of the liquefied fuel to said wick.

La présente invention concerne des bougies à plateau de fusion qui utilisent des éléments conducteurs de chaleur pour distribuer la chaleur d'une flamme de combustion sur une mèche vers un plateau de support pour un combustible solide et vers le corps dudit combustible solide, de manière à liquéfier plus rapidement le combustible solide, tel que la paraffine, et à chauffer plus uniformément et plus intensément lesdits combustibles afin d'augmenter l'efficacité de consommation de ces derniers et de libérer plus rapidement les matières volatiles contenues dans lesdits combustibles. Le plateau support conducteur de chaleur est conçu de manière à présenter un piédestal capillaire sur sa surface, lequel vient en contact par coopération avec un porte-mèche comprenant une mèche de préférence consommable et des ailettes thermoconductrices qui conduisent la chaleur d'une flamme sur ladite mèche vers le plateau de support. Le porte-mèche présente également des ailettes capillaires au moyen desquelles le combustible liquéfié est transporté dudit plateau de support vers ladite flamme, ledit porte-mèche venant également en prise avec ledit piédestal capillaire de manière verrouillée afin de résister à l'enlèvement accidentel dudit piédestal. Le combustible peut se présenter sous diverses formes, conçues pour venir en contact de manière coopérative avec ledit porte-mèche et ledit plateau de support, et peut comprendre diverses matières volatiles. Le piédestal capillaire, conjointement au porte-mèche, entraîne l'écoulement rapide et complet du combustible liquéfié vers ladite mèche.
