A multiple stop gas spring that has a second or stop piston assembly (66) in addition to a metering piston assembly (64), connected and movable with the gas spring shaft. The stop piston assembly (66) is preferably spaced axially from the metering piston assembly (64). The stop piston assembly may be utilized to stop movement of the shaft in one direction at preselected position(s) along the shaft's normal stroke, and also, or alternatively, to cause the shaft movement in the one direction to slow incrementally to a cushioned stop when the shaft approached the end of its stroke. The shaft may move in the other direction without any impediment to its movement or may stop in both directions.
L'invention concerne un ressort à gaz à positions d'arrêt multiples, comportant un deuxième ensemble piston d'arrêt outre un ensemble piston doseur, raccordés à la tige du ressort à gaz. L'ensemble piston d'arrêt est de préférence espacé axialement de l'ensemble piston doseur. L'ensemble piston d'arrêt peut être utilisé pour stopper le mouvement de la tige dans un sens, en un ou plusieurs points présélectionnés sur la course normale de la tige, et/ou pour induire le mouvement de l'axe dans ledit sens et le ralentir par incréments avant qu'il soit stoppé de manière amortie, lorsqu'il approche de la fin de sa course. La tige peut se déplacer dans l'autre sens sans entrave ou peut s'arrêter dans les deux sens.
