Compression molded pigmented door skins fabricated by compression molding a pigmented, curable, unsaturated polyester sheet molding compound containing a co-curable unsaturated monomer, a low profile additive, and a microvoid- reducing thermoplastic polymer, exhibit uniform stainability while maintaining a low linear thermal coefficient of expansion. Such door skins are suitable for preparing wood grain textured exterior insulated doors which exhibit minimal thermal deflection when exposed to interior/exterior temperature differentials, even at eight foot door heights. The doors may be stained without first applying a seal coat.

Peaux de porte pigmentées et moulées par compression dont la fabrication consiste à mouler par compression un composé de moulage pigmenté, durcissant, se présentant sous la forme d'une feuille de polyester insaturé, contenant un monomère insaturé durcissant simultanément avec le polyester, un additif de profil bas et un polymère thermoplastique réduisant les vides microscopiques, et pouvant être teint de façon uniforme, tout en conservant un coefficient d'expansion thermique linéaire bas. Ces peaux de porte permettent de préparer des portes isolées dont l'extérieur possède une texture de grain de bois et qui présentent une déflexion thermique minimum quand elles sont exposées à des différences de température entre l'intérieur et l'extérieur, même à des hauteurs de porte de huit pieds. On peut teinter ces portes sans application préalable de revêtement d'étanchéité.
