A method and device for use in delivering or withdrawing fluid to or from the vascular system of bone marrow, wherein a tubular conduit is inserted into bone and fluid is delivered or withdrawn to or from a reservoir through a seal means surrounding a head attached to one end of the conduit in communication with bone marrow at the opposite and of the conduit. Access to bone marrow is achieved by implanting an improved intramedullary catheter of the present device within a bone and creating a reusable passage via a conduit placed between bone marrow and the outer surface of bone or skin.
