A large bale lift for a flat bed truck includes a lift assembly with a transverse lift housing. The lift housing is pivotably attached to the rear of the truck bed and is selectively pivotable between a raised position immediately adjacent the rear of the bed and a lowered position immediately below and behind the truck bed. A pair of telescoping gripper arms are pivotably attached to respective opposing ends of the lift housing such that they are, in turn, selectively pivotable between a raised, neutral position immediately adjacent each respective end of the lift housing and a lowered, gripping position where they are pivoted downward and the gripper arm ends are pivoted inward toward each other to grip a large hay bale. Each gripper arm includes a respective bale gripping disc positioned near the terminal end of the corresponding arm with the discs being swivel mounted to an angled shaft so that they can face inward in both the neutral and the gripping positions of the gripper arms.

Chaque bras de préhension comporte un disque de préhension de balle, placé près de l'extrémité terminale du bras auquel il est associé, chacun de ces disques pouvant pivoter sur un arbre oblique pour se déplacer vers l'intérieur et faire gagner aux bras de préhension leur position neutre ou leur position de préhension.
