La présente invention concerne un acier inoxydable austénitique resulfuré à usinabilité améliorée, utilisé notamment dans le domaine de l'usinage à très grande vitesse de coupe et le domaine du décolletage, caractérisé en ce que sa composition pondérale est la suivante: -Carbone < à 0,1 %, -Silicium < à 2%, -Manganèse < à 2%, -Nickel de 7 à 12%, -Chrome, de 15 à 25%, -Soufre, de 0,10 à 0,55%, -Cuivre, de 1 à 5%, -Calcium > à 35.10-4 %, -Oxygène > à 70.10-4%, le rapport de la teneur en calcium sur la teneur en oxygène étant compris entre 0,2 et 0,6.
