A marine anchor (1) has an anhedral fluke (2) with a shank (3) attached thereto including an anchor line attachment point (10). A rear plate assembly (4) behind the fluke (2) is inclined at an obtuse angle (.alpha.) to the fluke (2) and serves to provide a turning moment about the attachment point (10) countering turning moments produced by friction effect on the fluke and the shank and by edge resistance during anchor burial to give improved anchor holding power while soil escapes passage (5) between the rear assembly (4) and the fluke (2) allows escape of sand and soft mud passing over the fluke. Peripheral edges (4A) of the rear assembly (4) are shaped to cause rolling of the anchor to a burial position. An upturned toe portion (9) at the front of the fluke encourages effective anchor operation in clay soils while also facilitating rock gripping by the anchor.
Une ancre pour bateaux (1) comporte une patte à dièdre négatif (2) munie d'une tige (3), ainsi qu'un point d'attache (10) de la ligne d'ancre. Un ensemble de plaque arrière (4) placé derrière la patte (2) forme à un angle obtus (alpha) par rapport à la patte (2) et engendre un moment de rotation autour du point d'attache (10) pour contrer les moments de rotation provoqués par les effets de frottement sur la patte et la tige, et par la résistance latérale rencontrée pendant l'enfouissement de l'ancre. Cette conception confère à l'ancre une meilleure capacité de retenue, et le passage (5) d'évacuation de sol entre l'ensemble arrière (4) et la patte (2) permet l'évacuation de sable et de boue molle qui passent sur la patte. Les bords périphériques (4A) de l'ensemble arrière (4) sont conformés pour provoquer le roulement de l'ancre vers une position d'enfouissement. Une partie de pointe retournée (9) à l'avant de la patte favorise le fonctionnement efficace de l'ancre dans les sols argileux, et permet à l'ancre de s'accrocher plus facilement aux rochers.
