An improved apparatus and method for injecting and retrieving a length of coiled tubing and storing the tubing on a storage spool. An injector reel is pivotally mounted on a frame such that coiled tubing may be angularly injected to shallow, horizontal wells. A hold-down assembly is provided to individually adjust the pressure applied to the coiled tubing as it is injected into or retrieved from a well. The positioning of the injector reel and the storage spool in the injecting mode ensures a greater degree of wrapping of the coiled tubing around the injector reel to improve the control of the injection and retraction of the tubing. A vertically and horizontally adjustable storage spool cradle enables the operator to vary the width and diameter of the storage spools used in the apparatus.
Dispositif et méthode améliorés d'injection et de récupération d'une longueur de tube d'intervention enroulé et de stockage de ce dernier sur un touret. Un rouleau d'injection est installé de manière à pivoter sur un cadre de telle sorte que le tube d'intervention enroulé puisse être injecté à angle dans des puits horizontaux peu profonds. Un mécanisme de retenue sert à régler de manière séparée la pression appliquée sur le tube d'intervention enroulé lorsqu'il est injecté dans un puits ou qu'il en est retiré. L'emplacement du rouleau d'injection et du touret de stockage pendant l'injection assure un meilleur enroulement du tube d'intervention autour du rouleau d'injection afin d'accroître le contrôle exercé lors de l'injection et du retrait du tube. Un berceau pour le touret de stockage, qui est réglable verticalement et horizontalement, permet à l'utilisateur de modifier la largeur et le diamètre des tourets de stockage utilisés par le dispositif.
