The invention concerns a method for supplying electric power to a network using an alternating current generator associated with a turbine, via a transformer (reactance XT). The invention is characterised in that it consists in assessing the generator as precisely as possible based on the site requirements by lowering its nominal voltage to a maximum low while continuing to satisfy the capacity of the generator to export its active power delivered by the turbine and the reactive power corresponding to said active power demanded by a consumer or operator of the network.
