A method of electrochemical analysis using a sensor electrode specific for an analyte under test. The method comprises immersing the sensor electrode in a sample solution suspected of containing the analyte; forming an electrochemically active complex by exposure to solutions containing secondary receptors or competing molecules labelled with a charged or enzyme label; and subsequently exposing the sensor to an electrochemically active solution. The measurement step comprises driving the sensor electrode potential to a predetermined fixed potential by applying a current or activation waveform then monitoring the potential difference between the sensor electrode and a reference electrode following removal of the holding current. Current, rate and potential can all be measured and used to determine analyte concentration or sensor state.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'analyse électrochimique au moyen d'une électrode de détection spécifique d'un analyte à l'essai. Ce procédé consiste à immerger l'électrode de détection dans une solution de dosage supposer contenir l'analyte ; à former un complexe actif sur le plan électrochimique par exposition à des solutions contenant des récepteurs secondaires ou des molécules concurrentes pourvue d'une étiquette chargée ou d'un enzyme marqueur ; puis à exposer le détecteur à une solution active sur le plan électrochimique. L'étape de mesure consiste à amener le potentiel de l'électrode de détection à un potentiel fixe prédéterminé en appliquant un courant ou une forme d'onde d'activation puis à surveiller la différence de potentiel entre l'électrode de détection et une électrode de référence suite à la suppression du courant de maintien. Le courant, le débit et le potentiel peuvent tous être mesurés et utilisés pour déterminer la concentration de l'analyte ou l'état du détecteur.
