The present invention provides a method for reducing the incidence of resistance of pests to pesticidal plants. In particular, there is provided a locus at which plant pests feed comprising at least two regions, characterised in that: a) a first region comprises plants which produce at least a first pesticidal toxin; and b) a second region comprises plants which produce at least a second pesticidal toxin; wherein a pest which can develop resistance to the first toxin does not develop resistance to the second toxin, and the first region comprises plants which produce the first toxin but not the second toxin when the plants of the second region produce the second toxin but not the first toxin. In one aspect of the invention, the plant pests are insects. The invention also provides a method for controlling insects.
La présente invention concerne un procédé qui permet de réduire l'incidence de la résistance d'animaux nuisibles à des plantes pesticides. Elle concerne en particulier un locus d'alimentation des ravageurs des plantes comprenant au moins deux zones, qui se caractérisent en ce que: a) une première zone contient des plantes produisant au moins une première toxine pesticide; et b) une seconde zone contient des plantes produisant au moins une seconde toxine pesticide, si bien qu'un animal nuisible pouvant développer une résistance à la première toxine ne développera pas de résistance à la seconde toxine. Les plantes de la première zone produisent la première toxine mais non la seconde toxine, et les plantes de la seconde zone produisent la seconde toxine mais non la première toxine. Dans un autre aspect de l'invention, les ravageurs des plantes sont des insectes. L'invention concerne en outre une procédé de lutte contre les insectes.
