An improved nozzle-mix burner includes a burner head comprising a pair of air distribution chambers, each having at least one air inlet for supplying air thereto, and a plurality of air ports for discharging air therefrom, and a fuel distribution chamber having at least one fuel inlet for supplying fuel thereto, and a plurality of fuel ports for discharging fuel therefrom. Within the burner head, the fuel distribution chamber is fluidly isolated from, and interposed between, the pair of air distribution chambers. The fuel ports and the two sets of air ports are arranged such that in operation fuel discharged from the fuel ports mixes with air discharged from the first and second air ports. For improved mixing of the gases exiting the burner head, each fuel port is preferably disposed between a pair of air ports.
