A fluid seal for ball control valves formed from a composition comprising a fluorinated resin, a reinforcing polymer, and, optionally, molybdenum disulfide, which has been compression molded in a tube mold, heat sintered and annealed. Such a formed ball seal ha improved properties of chemical resistance, hydrolysis and creep resistance, a sufficient hardness for low wear, a reduced coefficient of friction, and is virtually nonabrasive.
L'invention porte sur un joint étanche aux fluides pour robinets à boisseau sphérique composé: d'une résine fluorée, d'un polymère de renfort, et éventuellement de disulfure de molybdène, et qui est obtenu par moulage sous pression dans un moule tubulaire, frittage à chaud et recuit. Le joint ainsi formé présente des propriétés améliorées de résistance aux produits chimiques, à l'hydrolyse, au fluage, une dureté suffisante garante d'une faible usure, un coefficient de frottement réduit tout en étant pratiquement non abrasif.
