A catalytic process is disclosed for converting solid or high viscosity carbon-based energy carrier materials, such as heavy crudes, oil sands, synthetic polymeric wastes and cellulosic or aquatic biomass. The conversion temperature is less than 450°C. The reaction products are separated from the catalyst within 10 seconds after being formed. The temperature of the reaction products is lowered to less than 200°C within 10 seconds after being formed. The process results in less deterioration of the reaction products.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de conversion catalytique de matériaux porteurs d'énergie à base de carbone solides ou à viscosité élevée, tels que les bruts lourds, les grès bitumineux, les déchets polymériques synthétiques et les biomasses cellulosiques ou aquatiques. Selon l'invention, la température de conversion est inférieure à 450°C. Les produits réactionnels sont séparés du catalyseur au plus tard 10 secondes après leur formation. La température des produits réactionnels est abaissée à moins de 200°C dans les 10 secondes qui suivent leur formation. Le procédé de l'invention permet de réduire la détérioration des produits réactionnels.
