Process for the production of aromatic polyester resins starting from resins with IV from 0.1 to 0.4 dl/g comprising the steps of blending the resin with a dianhydride of a tetracarboxylic acid, extruding the resin under form of strand, cooling the strand or the chips obtainable by cutting the strand, at a temperature between 150°C and 210°C and maintaining the same temperature for sufficient time to obtain a crystalline product wherein the DSC curves of the same do not show presence of premelt peaks or only in negligible amount.

Méthode pour préparer des résines de polyester aromatique à partir de résines à IV de 0,1 à 0,4 dl/g, consistant à mélanger la résine avec un dianhydride d'acide tétracarboxylique, à extruder la résine sous forme de fil, à refroidir le fil ou les fragments obtenus en coupant le fil, à une température comprise entre 150 et 210 degrés C, et à maintenir la même température pendant assez longtemps pour obtenir un produit cristallisé, dont les courbes DSC révèlent l'absence de pics de pré-fonte, ou alors leur présence, mais en quantités négligeables.
