An improved process for the preparation of 2-amino-3,5-dihydro-7-substituted- 4H-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-ones is described wherein 2,6-diamino- 3,5-dihydro-7-substitued-4H- pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrrimidin-4-one is converted to a diazonium salt which is subsequently catalytically reduced to the desired compound, as Well as valuable intermediates used in the process.

L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré de préparation de 2-amino-3,5-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo-[3,5-d]-pyrimidin-4-ones substituées en position 7, selon lequel une 2,6-diamino-3,5-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo-[3,2-d]-pyrimidin-4-one substituée en position 7 est transformée en un sel de diazonium qui est ensuite réduit catalytiquement pour donner le composé désiré. L'invention concerne également des intermédiaires utilisés dans ledit procédé.
