Improved Processes and Apparatus for Treating Sewage or Like Sludge There is disclosed a process for treating sewage or similar organic sludge to produce a pasteurised and dried product comprising the steps of: drying the sludge to substantially the desired dry solids content of the product; and thereafter adding an alkaline admixture to the dried sludge in order to pasteurise and/or stabilise the sludge and thereby produce the product without employing subsequent drying by aeration.
L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil améliorés destinés au traitement de boues d'eaux usées ou du même type. Le procédé de traitement de boues d'eaux usées ou des boues biologiques similaires conduit à un produit sec et pasteurisé et consiste à sécher les boues jusqu'à la teneur en matière sèche sensiblement recherchée, puis à ajouter aux boues séchées un additif alcalin de façon à pasteuriser et/ou stabiliser les boues et obtenir ainsi le produit fini sans séchage ultérieur par aération.
