Improved one-part and two-part liquid products such as, e.g., mouthwashes, mouthrinses, toothpastes, gels and the like, for remineralizing subsurface lesions and/or mineralizing exposed dentin tubules in teeth contain a cationic component, an anionic component and a separating means for separating the cationic and anionic components. The anionic component contains water-soluble phosphate and fluoride salts, while the cationic component contains at least one partially water-soluble calcium salt and preferably at least one water-soluble salt of a divalent metal other than calcium. The tooth is treated with a mixed aqueous composition formed by mixing the cationic and anionic components with water and/or saliva. The mixed aqueous composition has a pH of from about 4.0 to about 10.0 and, in addition to dissolved calcium cations and dissolved phosphate and fluoride anions, contains a quantity of undissolved calcium salt. The use of the partially water-soluble calcium salt delays precipitation of the cations and anions in the aqueous composition until after the ions have diffused through the tooth surface to the subsurface and/or dentin so as to effect remineralization and/or mineralization, respectively.
La présente invention concerne des produits liquides améliorés en une ou deux parties tels que des eaux dentifrices, des bains de bouche, des pâtes dentifrices, des gels et produits similaires permettant de reminéraliser les lésions de sous-surface et/ou de minéraliser les tubules dentinaires exposés d'une dent, lesquels produits comprennent un composant cationique, un composant anionique et un moyen séparateur permettant de séparer les composants cationique et anionique. Le composant anionique comprend des sels de phosphate et de fluor, tandis que le composant cationique comprend au moins un sel de calcium partiellement hydrosoluble et, de préférence, au moins un sel hydrosoluble d'un métal bivalent autre que le calcium. La dent est traitée avec une composition aqueuse mixte que l'on forme en mélangeant les composants cationique et anionique avec de l'eau et/ou avec la salive. Cette composition aqueuse mixte présente un pH qui varie d'environ 4,0 à environ 10,0 et contient, outre les cations calcium dissous et les anions phosphate et fluor dissous, une quantité de sel de calcium non dissous. L'utilisation de sel de calcium partiellement hydrosoluble retarde la précipitation des cations et des anions dans la composition aqueuse jusqu'à ce que les ions se soient diffusés au travers de la surface de la dent jusqu'à la sous-surface qu'ils reminéralisent et/ou la dentine qu'ils minéralisent.
