A continuous flotation process and apparatus for iron-containing sulphides in ores and concentrates of ores are disclosed. The process includes adjusting the pH of an aqueous pulp of the ores or concentrates of the ores to be in the range of 6.5-8.5 and thereafter adding a reducing agent to modify an iron hydroxide film on the surface of iron-containing sulphides in the ores or ore concentrates to enable adsorption of a collector onto iron-containing sulphides. The process also includes adding the collector to the pulp prior to, during, or after adding the reducing agent. The process also includes aerating the pulp to increase the pulp potential to a level sufficient to allow collector adsorption onto the iron-containing sulphides and thereafter bubbling gas through the pulp and subjecting the aqueous pulp to froth flotation to produce a froth containing said sulphide containing minerals.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil de flottation en continu pour sulfures à teneur en fer dans des minerais et des concentrés de minerais. Ce procédé consiste à régler le pH d'une pulpe aqueuse de minerais ou de concentrés de minerais sur une plage comprise entre 6,5 et 8,5 et à ajouter ensuite un agent réducteur pour modifier le film d'hydroxyde de fer à la surface des sulfures à teneur en fer dans lesdits minerais ou lesdits concentrés de minerais, pour permettre l'adsorption d'un collecteur sur les sulfures à teneur en fer. Ce procédé consiste également à ajouter le collecteur à la pulpe, avant, pendant ou après l'adjonction de l'agent réducteur. Ce procédé consiste également à aérer la pulpe pour accroître le potentiel de la pulpe à un niveau suffisant pour permettre l'adsorption du collecteur sur les sulfures à teneur en fer puis à produire des bulles de gaz à travers la pulpe et à soumettre la pulpe aqueuse à une flottation par mousse pour produire une mousse contenant lesdits minéraux à teneur en sulfures.
