A new playing device for Ringette that improves on the current ring used in play. The various new rings proposed herein may have identical dimensions and either circular shape and tube diameter or may be a circular shape employing an elliptical cross-section. In either case the ring is appended with an interior striated series of raised rubber strands that improve the device properties. particularly the lift. In the case of the elliptical cross-- section the aerodynamic speed and reduction of drag creates a smooth flow through the air when shot and allows superior shooting performance. A colour correction for the ring from medium blue to black will improve visual acuity and consequent overall ring handling ability during any game. A final improvement is the removal of the raised lettering "Ringette", "Q19" and "Official" that extrude about 0.5 millimeter on one side of the ring and not the other creating a situation whereby ring sliding speed is determined by which of the two flat sides is laying on the ice. Also incorporated in this filing is the visual benefit of using coloured rings. Darker colours such as black are determined by sports optometrists as superior for play. Correspondingly white or light gray colours are appropriate for practice sessions where elevation of player skill levels can be achieved by adoption of an awkward visual colour such as cited above.
