A multiposition hanger for a tool having a housing is disclosed. The hanger has a clamp having first and second arms and a first hole through said first arm and a second hole through said second arm. A fastener is configured for passing through the first hole, through the housing, then through second hole, such that the fastener secures the clamp to the tool. A hook is configured for hanging the tool, the hook having a free side and a mounting side joined by a supporting span. A clamp housing connects the hook with the clamp. The clamp housing has a top end and a bottom end with a throughbore passing therethrough from the top end to the bottom end for receiving the mounting side of the hook. The throughbore and the mounting side are both generally parallel to the fastener when the fastener is engaged in the first and second holes. The clamp housing is rotatably held within the throughbore by a detent locator. A plurality of detents are located at the bottom end of the clamp housing such that when the detent locator is seated in one of the detents, the position of the hook is faced relative to the tool.
