A process for the manufacture of a ruler for use in the accurate measuring of fabric for quilting, patchwork and other crafts includes the steps of forming a ruler blank from a single layer of a substantially transparent material, printing, in one or more discrete stages, a pattern onto a surface of the blank, the pattern comprising a single colour or multi-colour pattern corresponding to the scalar markings on the ruler and in a further stage printing a non-slip pattern onto the same surface of the ruler, characterised in that the printing composition used for printing the non-slip pattern comprises an ink which can be dried using ultra violet light; an adhesive and a granular filler, capable of imparting non-slip properties to the surface of the ruler. A ruler produced according to this process is also described.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une règle destinée à la mesure précise d'un tissu pour matelassage, patchwork et autres applications. Ce procédé consiste à former une ébauche de règle à partir d'une couche unique d'un matériau sensiblement transparent, à imprimer, en une ou plusieurs étapes séparées, un motif sur une surface de l'ébauche, ce motif comprenant un motif à couleur unique ou à couleurs multiples correspondant aux marques scalaires sur la règle, et, dans une étape d'impression additionnelle, à imprimer un motif antidérapant sur la même surface de la règle. L'invention se caractérise en ce que la composition d'impression utilisée pour imprimer le motif antidérapant comprend une encre pouvant être séchée au moyen d'une lumière ultraviolette, un adhésif et une charge granulaire, et permet de conférer des propriétés antidérapantes à la surface de la règle. L'invention concerne également une règle fabriquée selon ce procédé.
