Apparatus usable with a tire changing machine (10) includes a protective arm (28) that may be pivoted about a shaft (36) having an axis that is generally parallel to the radial axis of the wheel and tire assembly (22) when positioned in the tire changing machine. Pivoting of the arm permits the second section of the arm to be adjacent, and substantially parallel, to the circumferential surface of the tire and the first section to be adjacent, and substantially parallel, to the side wall surface of the tire. The arm thereby forms a safety barrier against the release of components of the wheel and tire assembly.
La présente invention concerne un appareil utilisable avec un dispositif (10) permettant de changer un pneu doté d'un bras protecteur (28) qui peut pivoter autour d'un arbre (36) présentant un axe généralement parallèle à l'axe radial de la roue et un ensemble roue et pneu (22) lorsque celui-ci est placé dans le dispositif de changement de pneu. Par pivotement du bras, la seconde partie du bras est adjacente ou sensiblement parallèle à la surface de la périphérie du pneu et la première partie du bras est adjacente et sensiblement parallèle à la surface de la paroi latérale du pneu. Le bras forme, ainsi, une barrière de protection empêchant la libération de composants de l'ensemble roue et pneu.
