Stabilized solution-dyed fiber is made by melting a polyamide which is amide monomers polymerized in the presence of at least one mono or dicarboxylic acid chain regulator and at least one hindered piperidine compound, coloring the melted polyamide, and spinning the colored polyamide into fibers that have about 40% or better retained tenacity after 2125 kJ exposure to xenon arc radiation as per AATCC Test Method 16-1993, "Colorfastness to Light," Option E. Copper stabilizers are unnecessary.

Une fibre stabilisée colorée en solution est obtenue par fusion d'un polyamide - préparé par polymérisation de monomères d'amide en présence d'au moins un régulateur de chaîne à base d'acide mono- ou dicarboxylique et d'au moins une pipéridine avec empêchement stérique -, coloration du polyamide fondu et filage du polyamide coloré en fibres possédant 40 % ou plus de ténacité rémanente après une exposition de 2125 kJ au rayonnement d'un arc au zénon, selon la norme AATCC 16-1993, « Solidité de la couleur à la lumière », option E. Des stabilisateurs au cuivre ne sont pas nécessaires.
