The present invention is a fluid handling device such as a helicoidal pump or motor having a stator (8) formed by an elastomer material in which a plurality of fibers (22-25; 30-32) are encapsulated. Preferably, the fibers form a network of interlaced fibers extending in two or more directions. The fiber network preferably forms multiple layers of flexible fabric encircling the stator axis. In addition, a group of fibers (26) can extend radially through the fabric layers. The fibers increase the strength, the stiffness of the elastomer, and also create heat conduction paths that improve the heat transfer within the stator core, thereby preventing overheating of the elastomer.
On décrit un dispositif de gestion du fluide, tel qu'une pompe ou un moteur hélicoïdal, qui comprend un stator (8) confectionné dans un matériau élastomère dans lequel de nombreuses fibres (22, 25, 30, 32) sont encapsulées. De préférence, les fibres forment un réseau de fibres tressées qui s'étendent dans deux ou plusieurs directions. Ce réseau de fibres forme, de préférence, de multiples couches textiles souples entourant l'axe du stator. De plus, un groupe des fibres (26) peut s'étendre radialement à travers les couches textiles.
