A tightening device (120) for a clamp in the form of an outwardly ex-tending ear with outwardly extending leg portions (121) interconnected by a bridg-ing portion (122) at their outer ends whereby the leg portions (121) at least in their outer parts (121') diverge from one another in the inward direction to provide at least one of two features con-sisting of increased tolerance range of a given clamp size and interactive feedback for the correct positioning of the clamp-ing tool (8).
