An elongate tool handle, such as for a shovel, includes one or two spirit levelsembedded into the handle so as to assess alignment in perpendicular planes. The spirit levels incorporated into the tool allow the tool itself to be used to check vertical or horizontal alignment of posts, trees, and the like. The levels are selected, located and mounted on the handle in such a way that the levels are substantially received within the contour of the handle. The depth of the cavity in which the levels are imbedded is selected to avoid substantial impact on the strength of the handle. When two spirit levels are incorporated into the tool, they are arranged in a T configuration, one being oriented substantially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the handle, the other being substantially parallel thereto.

Les niveaux à bulle incorporés dans l'outil permettent d'utiliser l'outil lui-même pour vérifier l'alignement vertical ou horizontal de poteaux, d'arbres et d'autres objets semblables. Les niveaux sont choisis, placés et montés sur le manche de façon à être reçus essentiellement à l'intérieur du pourtour du manche. La profondeur de la cavité dans laquelle les niveaux sont encastrés est choisie de façon à éviter d'avoir une forte incidence sur la résistance du manche. Lorsque deux niveaux à bulle sont incorporés à l'outil, ils sont placés dans une configuration en T, un des niveaux étant orienté essentiellement dans le sens transversal par rapport à l'axe longitudinal du manche, l'autre étant essentiellement parallèle à ce dernier.
