A wheel for use on a powered vehicle used to demolish solid waste at transfer station sites. The combination includes a said cylindrical body (10) having cleat assemblies (21) carried by the body (10). Each cleat assembly (21) has a hollow metallic base portion (36) and a durable, long wearing non- metallic wear tip (37) fixedly secured to the base portion (36). The wear tip (37) is formed from a material having a hardness and density insufficient to chip or erode a concrete floor surface, but sufficiently hard for the demolitionof solid wastes.
