A method and apparatus for feeding substantially free flowing solid product charges (P''') in a continuous vertical form, fill and seal packaging machine (10) is disclosed. Improved transitional product flow from the computerized weigher (W) to the bag former and closer is obtained by tracking and sampling the charges along the flow path. In the method, the steps include sensing the presence of the charges along the flow path at two locations, comparing each sensed charge presence to a defined time target that has previously been determined and adjusting at least one operating step in accordance with any deviation found to cause the charge or charges to approach the defined time target for optimum operation. Either a predictive time adaptive control (77) requiring operator input, or computer control (76) can be incorporated into the method. A series of product charge flow enhancers (102, 103; 131; 121) are provided along the flow path to assist in maintaining the charges within the time target.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'alimenter des charges (P''') de produits solides s'écoulant librement dans une ensacheteuse soudeuse (10) pour forme verticale continue. On obtient un meilleur écoulement du produit de transition entre la balance informatisée (W) et le module de formation et de fermeture de sachets en effectuant un suivi et un échantillonnage des charges le long du chemin d'écoulement. Ce procédé comporte plusieurs phases: détection en deux points de la présence des charges le long du chemin d'écoulement, comparaison de la présence de chaque charge détectée par rapport à des temps impartis définis et préalablement déterminés, et ajustement d'au moins une phase de fonctionnement en fonction de tout écart détecté comme cause d'un rapprochement de la charge ou des charges vers les temps impartis définis pour le fonctionnement optimum. Le procédé peut intégrer soit une régulation temporelle prédictive adaptative (77) nécessitant une intervention de l'opérateur, soit une régulation informatisée (76). Pour favoriser le maintien des charges dans les limites des temps impartis, on peut prévoir une série d'éléments améliorant l'écoulement de la charge du produit le long du chemin d'écoulement.
