A low sludge trivalent chromium based conversion coating bath is provided which forms corrosion resistant coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys by immersion in aqueous solutions containing trivalent chromium ions and fluorometallate ions followed by optional rinsing. Trivalent chromium coated aluminum also serves as an effective base for paint primers.
L'invention porte sur un bain de conversion de revêtement sous forme de boue à faible teneur en chrome trivalent qui forme sur l'aluminium ou les alliages d'aluminium un revêtement anti-corrosion après immersion dans une solution aqueuse contenant des ions de chrome trivalent et des ions de fluorométallate, suivie d'un rinçage facultatif. L'aluminium revêtu de chrome trivalent peut également servir de base à des apprêts pour peintures.
