Improved tuftable primary backings, carpets made from the backings and methods for making backings are disclosed. The backings employ fabrics made from serrated tape yarns which are coated with a film of a thermoplastic material, and optionally include a tufting lubricant applied to at least a portion of the serrated yarns.

Cette invention se rapporte à des dossiers de tapis primaires tuftés améliorés, à des tapis fabriqués avec ces dossiers et à des procédés de fabrication de ces dossiers. On utilise à cet effet des tissus faits de fils à bandes dentelées, qui sont recouverts d'un film d'un matériau thermoplastique et qui contiennent éventuellement un lubrifiant de tuftage appliqué sur une partie au moins des fils dentelés.
