A self-wringing mop of the type comprising a tube (19), inner sleeve (22) and a shaft (16) mounted within and movable with respect to each other, and a mop means comprising strands of absorbent material (15) being attached to the lower end of the shaft and to a mechanism for twisting and squeezing the mop head about the lower end of the shaft by a rotary and compressing action of the tube (19). At the pull of the handgrip (23) the outer tube (19) will travel straight up the shaft until the absorbent material (15) is under tension, and in line with the shaft. The operator then holds the handgrip (23) in one hand and the handle (26) in the other, and by pushing the handle (26) away from the handgrip (23) causing the outer tube (19) and the top core (12) to rotate, and travel down the shaft (16) towards the bottom core (14) in a twisting and squeezing action, thus wringing out the mop head.
La présente invention concerne un balai à frange du type à essorage automatique. Ce balai comporte un tube (19), un manchon intérieur (22) et un manche (16) montés l'un dans l'autre et mobiles les uns par rapprt aux autres. Ce balai comporte également une tête à franges, constituée de brins de matière absorbante (15), fixée à l'extrémité inférieure du manche et à un mécanisme destiné à tordre et comprimer la tête à franges autour de l'extrémité inférieure du manche sous l'effet de la rotation et de la compression exercées par le tube (19). Une traction sur la poignée de préhension (23) déplace le tube externe (19) droit vers le haut du manche jusqu'à ce que la matière absorbante (15) soit tendue et se présente dans l'alignement du manche. L'utilisateur saisit alors d'une main la poignée de préhension (23), et de l'autre main la poignée de manoeuvre (26), puis éloigne la poignée de manoeuvre (26) de la poignée de préhension (23), provoquant ainsi la rotation du tube externe (19) et de la partie centrale supérieure (12), et leur descente le long du manche (16) vers la partie centrale inférieure (14) dans un mouvement de torsion et de compression qui assure l'essorage de la tête du balai à franges.
