The present invention relates to anti-angiogenic variants of pigment epithelium derived factor (PEDF) comprising a plurality of altered phosphorylation sites, polynucleotides encoding same and uses thereof. In particular, the PEDF variants of the present invention provide superior anti- angiogenic activity and high neurotrophic activity and are useful in treating diseases associated with neovascularization and with neurodegenerative conditions.
La présente invention concerne des variantes anti-angiogéniques du facteur dérivé de l'épithélium pigmentaire (PEDF) comprenant une pluralité de sites de phosphorylation modifiés, des polynucléotides qui codent pour lesdites variantes et leurs utilisations. En particulier, les variantes du PEDF de la présente invention ont une meilleure activité anti-angiogénique et une activité neurotrophique élevée et elles s'utilisent dans le traitement de maladies associées à une néovascularisation et à des maladies dégénératives du système nerveux.
