Emitters for locating an item or person who has in some way become separated from their expected location are provided. The emitters of the present invention comprise a power source, a light emitting means, and a radiowave emitting means, the light emitting means comprising a first and second electrode, a dielectric material and an electroluminescent material being provided between the first and second electrodes, the radiowave emitting means comprising an antenna. The antenna may comprise the first and/or second electrode. The emitter may be a separate unit or may be part of or attached to an item such as a survival suit, a waterproof suit, a wet suit, a dry suit, a diving suit, a coat, a waterproof coat, a harness, a buoyancy item or aid, a life jacket, a life raft, a lifeboat, a floatation aid, a life belt, etc.
La présente invention concerne des émetteurs permettant de localiser un objet ou une personne qui s'est éloigné(e) de l'emplacement où il/elle se trouvait. Les émetteurs de la présente invention comprennent une source de puissance, une source de lumière et une source d'ondes radioélectriques, la source de lumière comprenant une première et une deuxième électrode entre lesquelles sont intercalés un matériau diélectrique et un matériau électroluminescent, et la source d'ondes radioélectriques comprenant une antenne. L'antenne peut comprendre la première et/ou la deuxième électrode. L'émetteur peut être constitué par une unité séparée ou bien il peut être intégré ou attaché à un objet tel qu'un vêtement de survie, un vêtement étanche à l'eau, un vêtement isothermique, une combinaison étanche, une combinaison de plongée, une veste, une veste étanche à l'eau, un harnais, un flotteur ou une bouée, un gilet de sauvetage, un radeau de sauvetage, un canot de sauvetage, un dispositif de flottaison, une ceinture de sécurité ou analogue.
