The invention provides a gas generator comprising an assembly (1) comprising a layer (5) of a first material, the first material separating a first space (9) from a second space (11), and means for provided a differential across the layer for at least one species, the layer (5, 13) being capable of transporting electrons and transporting ions of the at least one species and resisting the flow of gas from one space to the other. It is particularly preferred that urania doped with one or more rare earth metals contribute to the first material layer. Improved efficiency and flow rates of gas generation result.
L'invention concerne un générateur de gaz comprenant un ensemble (1) constitué d'une couche (5) d'une première matière, laquelle est destinée à séparer un premier espace (9) d'un second espace (11), ledit générateur de gaz comprenant en outre des organes conçus pour produire un différentiel sur ladite couche pour au moins une espèce. Cette couche (5, 13) est par ailleurs capable de transporter des électrons et de transporter des ions appartenant à au moins une espèce, et de résister au flux de gaz circulant d'un espace à l'autre. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, cette couche d'une première matière renferme de l'urane dopé avec au moins un ou plusieurs métaux terreux rares. Cette invention permet de générer du gaz avec une efficacité améliorée et à un débit supérieur.
