A blood collection system has a container for holding blood and a filter communicating with the container, mutually arranged for handling as a unit. The filter (20) contains a fibrous filter medium (28) housed within two flexible sheets (32, 34) of plastic. A first seal (36) joins the sheets (32, 34) directly to the filter medium (28) inboard of the peripheral edge (40) of the filter medium (28), and a second seal (38) joins the sheets (32, 34) outboard of the peripheral edge (40) of the filter medium (28). A region (42) of the filter medium (28) extends between the first and second seals (36, 38) to cushion contact with the filter housing during handling.
L'invention concerne un système de collection de sang doté d'un conteneur permettant de conserver le sang et d'un filtre communiquant avec le conteneur, respectivement disposés en vue d'être manipulés comme une seule unité. Le filtre (20) contient une matière filtrante fibreuse (28) disposée à l'intérieur de deux feuilles de plastique souples (32, 34). Un premier joint (36) unit les deux feuilles (32, 34) directement à la matière filtrante (28) vers l'intérieur du bord périphérique (40) de la matière filtrante (28) et un second joint (38) unit les feuilles (32, 34) vers l'extérieur du bord périphérique (40) de la matière filtrante (28). Une région (42) de la matière filtrante (28), entre le premier et le second joints (36, 38), permet d'amortir le contact avec le logement du filtre, en cours de manipulation.
