A convenience roll in the form of an elongate web (10) of material comprises a multiplicity of individual portions (11) integrally connected together in series. Each individual portion (11) is shaped so as to have an area that is less than the product of its overall width across the web multiplied by its length along the web. Neighbouring individual portions are connected together by a frangible zone (12) of material whose width across the web is small relative to the overall width of the web so as to act as a controlled breaking point for when an individual portion is to be separated from its neighbour on dispensing.

L'invention concerne un rouleau de produit de consommation courante sous la forme d'une bande de matière allongée (10) composée d'une multiplicité de morceaux individuels (11) reliés intégralement les uns aux autres en série. Chaque morceau individuel (11) est formé de façon à présenter une zone de dimension inférieure au produit de sa largeur totale en travers de la bande multipliée par sa longueur le long de la bande. Des morceaux individuels adjacents sont reliés l'un à l'autre par une zone de matière cassante (12) dont la largeur en travers de la bande est de faible dimension par rapport à la largeur totale de la bande, de sorte que cette zone sert de point de rupture contrôlée lorsqu'un morceau individuel doit être séparé de son morceau adjacent pour sa distribution.
