An extended nip press belt comprises a plurality of strips (14) each formed of a matrix of plastics (12) having perforations (13) to form a mesh or perforated membrane, and having reinforcing yarns (11) extending along the strips. The strips (14) are arranged in edge contact side by side across the width of the belt and their edges fused together along joints (15). The layer formed is embedded in a further matrix (16) containing further reinforcing yarns (17) at right angles to the yarns (11) and thus in the machine direction of the resulting belt.

L'invention concerne une courroie de presse avec zone de pression étendue, qui comprend une pluralité de bandes (14) constituées chacune d'une matrice de matières plastiques (12), ayant des perforations (13) pour former une structure maillée ou une membrane perforée, et comportant par ailleurs des fils d'armature (11) qui s'étendent le long des bandes. Ces bandes (14) sont disposées bord à bord sur la largeur de la courroie, et leurs bordures sont réunies par fusion le long de jointures (15). La couche ainsi formée est noyée dans une autre matrice (16) qui comprend d'autres fils d'armature (17) à angle droit avec les fils (11) et donc dans le sens machine de la courroie finale.
