An improved instrument, method and a circuit for measuring the total organic carbon (TOC) content of water, using UV radiation (UV lamps 50 and 62) combines a "static sample part" (42) and a "continuous flow module" (44). This provides substantially instantanous TOC measurements that are repetitively calibrated, as well as improved accuracy of results in a circuit, which provides improved noise rejection and a faster response. also the instrument provides controlled dilution of the sample stream to extent the useful range of the instrument.
L'invention concerne un instrument amélioré, un procédé et un circuit servant à mesurer la teneur totale en carbone organique (TOC) de l'eau à l'aide de rayonnement UV (lampes UV 50 et 62), qui combine une partie (42) d'échantillon statique et un module (44) d'écoulement continu (fig. 1). Ce système permet d'obtenir des mesures quasiment instantanées de TOC qui sont étalonnées de manière répétée, et une précision accrue des résultats dans un circuit, ce qui assure un rejet de bruit accru et une réponse plus rapide. L'instrument permet également une dilution réglée de l'écoulement échantillon pour augmenter la gamme utile de l'instrument.
