Described herein is a radar system (10) in which a reflector unit (14) is used to improve bi-static or forward scatter radar. The reflector unit (14) is used in conjunction with a co-located radar transmitter/receiver arrangement (12) to detect the presence of an object (20) passing in a zone ( 18) which extends between the reflector unit (14) and the transmitter/receiver arrangement (12).
