Fastener delivery apparatus for automatically selecting and delivering fasteners such as rivets to a setting tool (1). The fasteners are pre-loaded in a package (4) and dispense via at least one fastener delivery tube (6) that interconnects the setting tool (1) to a fastener feeder device. The fastener feeder device releases selected fasteners from the package (4) into the delivery tube (6). The fasteners are transportable individually or in groups in the tube (6) from the feeder device to the tool (1). A transfer station (7) attached to the tool (1) or the delivery tube (6) transfers a fastener from the delivery apparatus into the tool (1), the transfer station (7) being moveable between a first position in which an exit of the transfer station (7) is adjacent to the tool (1) so that a delivered fastener may be inserted by the transfer station (7) into the tool (1) and a second position in which it is clear of the tool (1) so as to permit the tool (1) or a portion thereof to move towards a workpiece to insert a loaded fastener. The delivery tube (6) has wear resistant elements. The apparatus allows smooth, rapid and reliable delivery of fasteners of various sizes and types to the nose of a setting tool (1) in any particular order and provides all the fastener types for any particular work cycle.
L'invention concerne une machine servant à la sélection d'attaches telles que des rivets et à leur acheminement vers un outil de montage (1). Les attaches sont préalablement chargées dans un emballage (4) puis distribuées au moyen d'au moins un tube de distribution d'attaches (6) qui relie l'outil de montage (1) à un chargeur d'attaches. Le chargeur d'attaches relâche dans le tube de distribution (6) les attaches sélectionnées dans l'emballage (4). A l'intérieur du tube (6), les attaches sont transportées une par une ou en groupes depuis le chargeur vers l'outil. Un poste de transfert (7) fixé à l'outil ou au tube de distribution (6) transfère une attache dans l'outil depuis l'appareil de distribution, ledit poste de transfert (7) pouvant se déplacer entre une première position dans laquelle une sortie du poste de transfert (7) est adjacente à l'instrument, de manière à ce que le poste de transfert (7) puisse insérer l'attache distribuée dans l'outil, et une deuxième position, dans laquelle le poste de transfert (7) est éloigné de l'outil de manière à ce que ledit outil (ou une partie de celui-ci) puisse se déplacer vers une pièce à usiner pour insérer une attache chargée. Le tube de distribution (6) est muni d'éléments résistant à l'usure. L'appareil permet de distribuer de façon coulante, rapide et fiable des attaches de tailles et de types différents à destination du bec d'un outil de montage (1), dans n'importe quel ordre déterminé, et de fournir tous types d'attaches destinées à un cycle de travail donné.
