An optical wavelength division multiplexing system, method and branching unit. The arrangement drops one, or more than one, predetermined wavelength signal (.lambda.2) from a trunk (18) onto a branch and adds signals (.lambda.2') at the predetermined wavelength, or at predetermined different wavelengths from the branch out the trunk. A sensor (34) senses the level of the signal(s) dropped and a controller (36), which responds to the control signal, adjusts the level of the add signal(s) (.lambda.2') to an optimum level for adding to the trunk (18).
L'invention porte sur un système de multiplexage optique par répartition en longueur d'onde, sur le procédé et l'unité de branchement. Le dispositif prélève sur une ligne principale (18) un ou plusieurs signaux d'une longueur d'onde préétablie (.lambda.¿2?) pour les diriger vers un branchement, et insère des signaux (.lambda.¿2?') à la longueur d'onde préétablie, ou à d'autres longueurs d'onde préétablies, dans la ligne principale, après les avoir extaits du branchement. Un détecteur (34) détecte le niveau du ou des signaux extaits et un régulateur (36), qui réagit au signal de commande, ajuste le niveau du ou des signaux d'insertion (.lambda.¿2?') à un niveau optimum pour les ajouter à la ligne principale (18).
